The 2019-2020 board began its work in June and is excited for another great year for the OSCWI.

Samar Arny, Honorary President

Samar Arny is a certified Project Management Professional with more than 12 years of international experience in operations management, community development and managing cross-functional projects from initiation to completion. Samar moved recently to Oak Harbor, Washington, with her family. She is proud to serve as the honorary president and adviser to the OSCWI. Being the NASWI commanding officer’s wife, Samar is eager to capitalize on her professional expertise to effectively and passionately serve the community. More about Samar

Amber P., President

Amber is originally from Texas, has been married for seven years, and stays very busy with her three little humans. She has lived on Whidbey island for nine years, and is happy to be able to support fellow military spouses and the community. Amber is thrilled to be serving on the 2019-20 board and cannot wait for all that’s to come for this next year. When you see her at an event, feel free to come say hi! Samantha L., Vice President

Samantha served on last year’s board and is now excited to be a part of our 2019-2020 board. She has served on an OSC board for the past few years, and she is eager to get to know our members and be more involved with the NASWI community. Contact Samantha


Cristie Arnold, Retiree Liaison

Cristie is a retired Air Force spouse/mom, serving for 25 years and retiring in 2016. Her son graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 2017. Cristie has three kids. In 2013 her youngest son was diagnosed with childhood cancer, Ewing’s Sarcoma; he is now 11, a five-year survivor. In 2018, inspired by her brother’s battle, Cristie’s daughter became a nurse. Cristie’s passion is for advocacy for childhood cancer research, the bone marrow registry, and blood donation. In 2011 her family was named Military Family of the Year by the National Military Family Association. Commitment to the community and a spouse connection is important to Cristie, and she has hopes to form partnerships between active duty and retiree spouses as the OSCWI retiree liaison. Emily Baker, Treasurer

Emily has been an official Navy spouse for three years, although she has tagged along with her husband and his career adventures since high school. She currently works as an accountant for a local business dedicated to supporting sustainable local agriculture in the Skagit Valley and brings to the OSCWI a number of financial skills. Stephanie Kingsley Brooks, Director on Board, Communications

Stephanie is originally from Atlanta, GA. After completing a Master’s in English at the University of Virginia, she worked for several years in digital communications for a nonprofit in Washington, DC. Stephanie met her husband in the big city and is now experiencing her first full Navy tour on Whidbey Island, where she continues web work and has taken up freelance copyediting. In her spare time, she loves to cook, garden, play violin and guitar, and spend time with her husband, kids, and cats. She especially enjoys hiking, kayaking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.

Stephanie is passionate about serving the OSCWI and helping to build a stronger spouse community on Whidbey. She served on the board last year as VP of Philanthropy and is excited to help grow the OSCWI this year through her efforts as Director on Board, Communications. Contact Stephanie

Jodi Ebersberger, Social Coordinator

Jodi is a Navy wife and mom of three kids, running her own home business as a Rodan&Fields consultant. Jodi also volunteers her time with numerous organizations in Oak Harbor. She serves as secretary of the Oak Harbor Football and Cheer League, team mom for her son’s football team, sunshine coordinator for MOPS, and treasurer of her squadron’s OSC.

As social coordinator for the OSCWI, Jodi will be focusing on supporting families through the challenges of Navy life. She plans on organizing hospitality and small get-togethers, some for just parents and some for parents with their kids. If you know of anyone who needs a meal during a difficult time, Jodi is person to contact. She is very excited about what this year will bring for the OSCWI and its board. Contact Jodi

Lee Henderson, Director on Board, Philanthropy, Outreach, and Fundraising

Originally from London, England, Lee met her husband while he was stationed in the UK with the Air Force before moving to Whidbey Island in Spring 2019. She currently works for a marketing technology company as a presales engineer and has 15 years of experience in technology consulting, marketing, and digital strategy. She has a seven-month-old son and in her spare time mainly enjoys sleeping, as well as travel, running, crochet, and horseback riding. Contact Lee

Rebecca H., Director on Board, Events

Rebecca will be helping to come up with and plan even more fun events this year for our community, from members-only to all-hands events. Events will include social meetups, professional networking opportunities, and occasions for the entire family to have fun. Lauren M., Director on Board, Events

Lauren is a native Floridian and mother of two. She has been married to her husband for six years and met her husband three miles from where her parents first met in Jacksonville. Lauren’s background is social work and mental health, however she has decided on a career change and is attending ERAU studying for a Masters in Project Management. In her spare time, you will find Lauren in her kitchen cooking/baking, reading or shopping. She believes in breaking down barriers between spouses and helping spouses to find their strengths as spouses, moms/fathers, friends, etc. Contact Lauren

Jelena Mouton, Director on Board

Jelena has been a Navy spouse for five years. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom, Jelena worked for JP Morgan Chase for seven years. In her free time, Jelena enjoys playing on the NASWI spouses kickball team (go Ballbarians!), reading, baking, and spending time with her family.

Bryttany Scudder, Enlisted Events Liaison

Bryttany Scudder is a California native that has been married to her spouse for 7 years. They have two boys, ages 5 and 2. She has an extensive background in medicine, and is thrilled to be apart of the board this year. Bryttany is very active in her community, she is the current Ombudsman for VP-69 and Social Coordinator for COMPASS. This will be Bryttany’s first year on the OSC Board. In her spare time, she enjoys running her small business, crafting, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is looking forward to helping OSCWI bridge the gap between enlisted and officer spouses. Contact Bryttany
